→ Akihiko grew up in an orphanage with his younger sister, Miki, and Shinjiro.→ Miki passed away in an accidental fire. Akihiko carries heavy feelings of guilt and despair over her death.
→ Driven by guilt, Akihiko wanted to get stronger. Though he claims it could have been through any sport, he ultimately chooses boxing.
→ Akihiko quickly becomes the star on both his middle and high school boxing teams. In the main story of Persona 3, he is the captain of the high school team.
→ Akihiko joins SEES after a boxing match when Mitsuru shows up and tells him about Persona. She presented him with an evoker almost immediately just to catch his attention!
→ After Shinijro leaves SEES, Akihiko makes up excuses to go see him frequently. He repeatedly asks his friend to rejoin the group.
→ Akihiko is extremely popular among the female students at Gekkoukan High--something he finds to be rather annoying. He is downright oblivious to their affections.
→ Akihiko is very awkward around girls when he is in situations that stress gender differences (ie. asking a girl out). Very awkward.
→ Because of his popularity, the female protagonist must have a charm level of at least "Queen Bee" in order to spend time with him. Otherwise, she can't handle the glares of jealous female students!
→ Akihiko's room is filled with training equipment. In fact, he spends most of his idle time training.

→ In the original Persona 3, Persona 3 FES and the male protagonist's route of Persona 3 Portable, Akihiko's arcana is the Emperor. However, his arcana changes to the Star in the female's route.

→ Akihiko makes an appearance in the anime Persona -trinity soul- as an adult. He works as an informant about reverse cases to Ryo Kanzato. It is mentioned that as an adult, Akihiko can no longer summon his Persona.
→ In Persona 4 Arena, however, Akihiko travels the world after attending college and learns to summon his Persona without the need of an evoker. He joins Mitsuru's Shadow Operatives, but says he would like to become a police officer in the future.
→ Akihiko is voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa in the Japanese version and Liam O'Brien in English.
